Selena Gomez shared her love for the *Inside Out *movies with Joy herself.
The multi-hyphenate recently appeared on Amy Poehler's *Good Hang *podcast. She said that she believes the Pixar films should be required viewing in schools.
"I watched it with my sister and I completely sobbed because it is so factual," Gomez said.

Poehler plays Joy, the embodiment of happiness in the mind of main character Riley, in the *Inside Out *movies.
The sequel, which came out last year, begins as Riley is starting puberty. The emotions of Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment move into her head. Gomez said her tween sister cried while watching *Inside Out 2.*
"I'm going to make my children watch it," she said.
The *Only Murders in the Building *actress was also moved by the second film, which shows Anxiety gradually taking over Riley's mind. The *Parks and Rec* star agreed that it's a relatable experience across ages.
"You're just remembering that moment when your paint set, you know, got some darker colors in it," Poehler said. "It's part of growing up, but it's brutal."**

Gomez has been open about her mental health struggles in the past. In her documentary *My Mind & Me,* the *Wizards of Waverly Place* star documented six years of her life and emotional journey.
She has since started the Rare Impact Fund, which aims to increase access to youth mental health services.
