*Each week this season, *The* *Golden Bachelor *host Jesse Palmer will answer a few questions about Mel's "journey" to find "love." Today, Jesse shares his thoughts via email about Nicolle's confession about her influencer aspirations, Mel's chemistry with Peg, and more.***
**: When Peg was chosen for a one-on-one, Nicolle said that she doesn't think Peg and Mel "go together." Why do you think contestants (Golden or otherwise) are always so quick to assume that they know what's best for the Bachelor or Bachelorette?**
**JESSE PALMER: **I think people sometimes say things like that as a defense mechanism to help them cope with their own internal disappointment that they're not on a date, or didn't receive a group date rose, etc.
**Mel and Peg had their date at the O.C. Fair. She kicked his butt at all the carnival games, but I'm pretty sure Mel smiled more on this date than he has on any so far. How would you describe Mel and Peg's connection?**
Peg and Mel have undeniable chemistry, and it always seems like they're having fun! I think Peg has a way of taking the edge off for Mel, and I think that allows him to feel like he can be himself around her.

Nicolle (right) talks to Roxanne about her future plans on 'The Golden Bachelor'.
**This week, Nicolle talked with the women about how much "exposure" the show could give them, how they will have "Housewives status" when the season is over, and how she wants to become "an influencer." Jesse, WHY would someone tell on themselves like that when cameras are rolling?**
That's a great question! Anyone who watches this show knows that there are always cameras around. Just because a camera operator isn't holding a camera 5 feet in front of you doesn't mean that video and audio isn't being recorded, for all of Bachelor Nation to see! **

The 'Golden Bachelor' women roast Mel: The best burns (and 6 moments you didn't see)

**We've talked about the "to tattle or not to tattle" question before — but given how egregious Nicolle's comments were, do you think the women had a responsibility to let Mel know about Nicolle's intentions? Why or why not?**
I think if the women really care about Mel and his future, they have the responsibility to bring those types of comments to his attention. Keep in mind, this wasn't an isolated incident where only one woman took issue with what Nicolle said. There were multiple women affected by those remarks!
**What's your best advice for a Bachelor or Bachelorette hoping to determine whether someone is there for the Right Reasons? **
I think you really have to try and capitalize on your one-on-one moments, and ask serious, thoughtful, and pointed questions. When I was the Bachelor, I remember feeling awkward asking those types of questions, especially early in the journey, but you have to make every moment count.
**Finally, would you rather chug a six-pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon or play a round of prune juice pong? **
I'm gonna be honest... I actually like the taste of prune juice. And it's a win-win. You get to increase your fiber intake while cleansing at the same time!
