Mark Consuelos Gets Booed by "Live" Audience for Taking Win from a Mom on Mother's Day Episode, But He Says 'I Don't Care!'

Bruce Glikas/Getty One thing aboutMark Consuelos: he knows how to win. During theLive with Kelly and Mark's Mother's Day special on Friday, May 9, the host geared up for some competition throughout the episode in celebration of the upcoming holiday. As they kicked off the "Stump Mark" segment — where viewers call in to provide Consuelos with two statements and he has to guess which one is true — he poked fun at the pressure of that day's theme. "Okay, so, Gelman, so I have to beat a mom today?" Consuelos joked to the offscreen producer. The caller was a woman named Laura Mallon, who revealed her nerves were getting the best of her because she was such a big fan of Consuelos and his co-host (and wife),Kelly Ripa. "If you rob this deserving mom of a mug and a T-shirt on Mother's Day, you're pretty much a monster," Ripa informed her husband before the game. ABC Mallon then provided her statements. The first was that she and her sister-in-law both had children born on their respective birthdays, and the second claimed she, her twin brother and their mother all share the same birthday. When he found out he won, correctly guessing that the first was the truth and the second was false, Consuelos was elated. The audience, however, felt differently. "Are you getting booed?" Mallon asked through the phone as the boos grew louder. Sitting with his head in his hands, Consuelos proceeded to look up and declare: "You know what? I don't care! I'm back! It's a game!" Mallon had another chance to take home a prize in the following trivia round, but she lost that round too. ABC The "Stump Mark" segment has gotten Consuelos in trouble before. In March 2024, whenhe went up against a New Jersey firefighter, Ripa gave her fellowAll My Childrenalum the same warning. "Let me just say this. I'm going to say something right now," she began. "If you rob Joe of this mug and t-shirt, you, sir, are a monster." Once again, Consuelos knew which was true, and the crowd booed his win. "How the audience has turned on you!" Ripa teased.
