Kelsey Grammer tears up on "The View" over moment he identified sister's body after her murder

ABC Kelsey Grammer appeared onThe Viewto promote his new book about his sister. TheFrasierstar teared up while recalling identifying her body after she was murdered in 1975. Grammer also discussed his career, which included roles inCheersand theX-Menfilms. FrasierandCheersactorKelsey Grammerbecame visibly emotional onThe Viewwhile recalling the moment he identified the body of hissister, Karen, who was murdered in 1975. The 70-year-old performer appeared Thursday on the talk show to discuss his book celebrating his sister's life,Karen: A Brother Remembers, during which he cried over a memory of the moment he identified her body. After cohostAlyssa Farah Griffindiscussed Grammer's decision to revisit the police report from the evening Karen was raped and murdered by spree killer Freddie Glenn, Grammer reflected on why he wanted to amplify Karen's life in the project. "To tell her story, it was important to know the details. I felt like I was kind of a sleuth, searching for Karen. The police report was a sticking point," Grammer replied. "The real purpose of reading the police report was to find out if there was somebody who might know something that nobody else knew, that I didn't know." Grammer said that, through the process, he discovered several of Karen's former friends that he was able to speak to for the first time, which gave him some peace in resurfacing her memory. "The barbarity and cruelty of that night, part of my mission or my hope is that someone might who's been grieving in their lives over something similar would find a way through my own course with this and find a way to have their grief, which is forever, and square up a little bit more with the joy," Grammer explained. "That's what I didn't have." He continued, noting that he spent his "whole life putting Karen in that horrible night, in that place where I..." before trailing off as tears welled in his eyes. ABC After a few moments, he finished his thought: "Where I saw her and identified her body, and I couldn't let that image go. The book helped me do that. Now, she lives again, and she's vibrant and alive and that's what I want to give to other people. They can bring those people back to their lives. They're with you, and they're alive. She was just wonderful. She was the greatest girl." In the book, which recounts Karen's life leading up to her murder at age 18 in Colorado Springs, Colo., Grammer reveals he initially coped with her death with "too much drinking and drug abuse" in the aftermath. The Knicks Courtside Celebrities Are Giving Me Everything I Wanted From the Met GalaNew Foto - The Knicks Courtside Celebrities Are Giving Me Everything I Wanted From the Met Gala

We're in the middle of a historic moment for New York basketball. At least that's what I, someone famously uninterested in sports, have gathered from Timothée Chalamet'spassionatepro-Knicks Instagram Stories. I cannot bring myself to care about basketball. But I do care about my Timmy and other stars like him, be they bandwagon fans or not. Suddenly, I've found myself a degree more interested in securing vintage Knicks merch on Depop than I was last week. I understand that the New York Knicks' successful performance in the 2025 NBA playoffs thus far represents something major for the team's lifelong fans, who've grown used to them coming up short. An analogy that's allowed me to understand the gravity of this moment was likening it to how Amy Adams stans will feel the day she wins her long overdue Oscar. Only then did I grasp the maniacal joy that the New York Knicks fans displayed on the streets of Manhattan when the team advanced to game 5 Monday night. "Let's Go Knicks" vs "Knicks in 5" on 7th Avepic.twitter.com/KTxfjm2PJt — New York Basketball (@NBA_NewYork)May 13, 2025 And while my algorithm knows I have no interest in layups or playoffs or anything of the like, New York City's team has been unavoidable on my feeds since the Eastern Conference Semifinals began. And not because of any actual game footage. First, it was because ofthis cinematic pictureof Kylie Jenner staring longingly at her boyfriend, Timothée, from their courtside seats during Game 4. Then I couldn't escape the transparent slay that was Cardi B's relationship hard-launch (the firstpost-Offset). She popped out at a Knicks game Monday night with NFL star Stefon Diggs, sitting just a few seats down from Timothée. And that's just a fraction of the high-profile action that's gone down during this particular playoff series. It's not new for the Knicks to have a high concentration of celebrities sitting courtside. (Spike Lee has been a season ticket holder since 1985.) The fact that the team is based in a cultural mecca makes it easy for huge names to stop by and watch a game. But this year's playoff series has set the stage for a ton of non-sports-related pop culture lore to be built on the sidelines. The 2025 Knicks' playoff presence is more comparable to cultural events like the Met Gala than to well-attended NBA games of the past. If we're pitting the annual gala and the Knicks iconic run against one another (not a totally obvious comparison, but let's walk together), we can note that couples like Kylie/Timothée and Cardi/Stefon chose to make big public outings at Knicks games instead of the Met's blue carpet this year. And sure, we see a handful of awkward celeb ex run-ins at the Met every year (see: Sabrina and Barry, and Rosalía and Jeremy Allen White this year). But we don't get to see how those run-ins—or any other action—can go down inside the event (despite Megan Thee Stallion'sbest covert recording efforts). But under Madison Square Garden's glaring light, we can see the celebrity ex-reunions in their full glory, like Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny sitting just a few feet away from each other at the Monday night Knicks game. Bad bunny y kendall jenner ayer en el mismo juego de NBA.pic.twitter.com/FrNXoLtotM — Bad Bunny (@Badbunny_posts)May 13, 2025 Any pop culture fan who considers themself committed to the game of stargazing should be fully rooting for New York City's team right now. Because players and stats aside, who else is feeding us like this? You're not getting lovable fan cams of every star imaginable—from Tina Fey to Mary J. Blige—at an Orlando Magic game (respectfully). View this post on Instagram A post shared by New York Knicks 🏀 (@nyknicks) You won't see former besties Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods (WAG to Knicks player Karl Anthony Towns) sharing post-Knicks win squeals during a rare public reunion anywhere else. Feels just like 2018. Happy Father's Day specifically to Ethan Hawke making his son switch seats with him so he could get at Rihannapic.twitter.com/WebgyHa4su — Homo Honey (@DixPeyton)June 20, 2021 Each of these A-list Knicks moments has provided me with similar voyeuristic glee! A basketball game is no gala, but it's not often we get so many opportunities to watch these celebs operate in (somewhat) laid-back environments. These games bring us very necessary group chat fodder! (For example: "Is it legal for an L.A. native like Kylie to step out as a Knicks diehard?")I am paying close attention to every beat of courtside activity happening while the Knicks do their thing this season, and for that reason alone, I need them to keep winning. Point guard Jalen Brunson is essentially carrying pop culture on his back right now, along with the dutiful Knicks fans in the nosebleeds recording all of this courtside action instead of the game itself (despitehow expensivethose tickets currently are). Anyone who doesn't want this celeb tea resource to dry up should go ahead and join the Knicks bandwagon. Who knows what other major pop culture moments are yet to come from Madison Square Garden... The New 'Superman' Trailer Should Have Families Ready To Take Flight This SummerNew Foto - The New 'Superman' Trailer Should Have Families Ready To Take Flight This Summer

Parents/courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures "Eyes up here." Director James Gunn'shighly anticipatedSupermanfilm is just a couple of months away, and he may have just bumped the anticipation up a couple notches higher. The latest trailer was released on May 14, and it's packed with heroic vibes, jaw-dropping visuals, and what looks like a very annoyed protagonist. Look up, indeed! The trailer starts with Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) using her trademark reporter chops during an interview with Superman (David Corneswet), himself, in what looks to be an apartment living room. It doesn't take long for things to get heated between the two, as Lois questions Superman's decisions to intervene in some world events, and Superman getting defensive. We then see a boatload of action shots splashed with comic book color and scale that should really look great on the big screen. Much of what flashes across the screen involves Superman fighting giant monsters or other super-powered people, along with him saving some and even being berated by others. We also see shots of the famous Superdog aka Krypto, as well as what looks like an emotional scene between Clark Kent and his loving Earth dad Jonathan. Basically, it looks like superhero-loving families should be in store for a feast come July 11. Warner Bros. Pictures Supermanis the first feature film to be released from the new DC Studios. In addition to his directing duties, James Gunn is also producing the film along with his co-studio head Peter Safran. The film stars David Corenswet ("Twisters," "Hollywood") in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel") as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (the "X-Men" movies, "Juror #2") as Lex Luthor, among others. Get ready to have your kids tying the bed sheets and bathroom towels around their necks for makeshift capes in anticipation for this one. Read the original article onParents

Britain says it's talking with some countries to set up migrant return hubsNew Foto - Britain says it's talking with some countries to set up migrant return hubs

TIRANA, Albania (AP) — Britain is talking with several countries to host rejected asylum seekers as they wait to be deported, the U.K. prime minister said Thursday. Prime Minister Kier Starmer said on a visit to Albania that the return hub concept was a "pretty important innovation" that could more effectively tackle migrant inflows. He did not name the countries he was in discussions with or offer more details. Albania already has afive-year agreementwith Italy to shelter up to 36,000 migrants annually while Rome fast-tracks their asylum requests. Under the deal, Italy would take back any migrants whose requests have been rejected, and they will likely be repatriated. Children and pregnant women aren't covered by the plan. Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said the agreement with Italy was a "one off" issue and that Tirana had turned down several requests for the same deals with other countries. The British prime minister said a joint task force with Albania has helped significantly reduce the number of Albanian migrants trying to reach the UK. He added that his government is in talks with Western Balkan countries to set up similar task forces, aiming to cut through the tangle of bureaucracy that hinders progress in reducing migrant arrivals. The number of Albanians crossing the English Channel in unsafe inflatable rafts in search of higher-paying jobs has dropped from 12,000 in 2022 to some 600 in 2024. "Quite an incredible reduction," Starmer said at a news conference with Rama. "And I think it's a signal and an example of what can be done when two countries work together in this way." Top British officials in 2022 called Albanians' arrivals "an invasion," sparking a diplomatic spat. Rama had called that a "crazy narrative" and an attempt to cover up for the U.K.'s failed border policies. Albanians cannot seek asylum status in the U.K., which considers Albania to be a safe country. In the same year, London and Tirana signed an agreement to return Albanians arriving on boats in the U.K. London also has funded projects, especiallyin northeastern Albaniawhere most of the illegal newcomers were from. Rama pledged to continue the partnership with Britain on discouraging migrant arrivals from Albania. Starmer's visit to Albania is the first by a British prime minister. He will also take part at Friday's summit of the European Political Community in Tirana, a forum that gathers European leaders with the aim of boosting security and prosperity across the continent. ___ Follow AP's global migration coverage at https://apnews.com/hub/migration
