Adam Sandler shared a bittersweet farewell to heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, who died on Tuesday at 76.
The *Happy Gilmore *actor paid tribute to Osbourne in an Instagram post with a shot of the the pair from *Little Nicky. *
"Nobody was more badass to crank up on our speakers than the one and only prince of darkness — Ozzy Osborne [sic]!" the post read. "Loved him a lot like we all did! Sending love to the family and so happy to have spent time with the legend himself. RIP"

Sandler enlisted the Black Sabbath frontman for a cameo in his 2000 film*.*
The movie follows Satan's youngest son Nicky (Sandler) as he tries to wrangle his devious brothers, who are terrorizing New York, back to Hell. What better project is there for the Prince of Darkness?
Osbourne plays himself and saves the day by biting the head off of Nicky's evil brother, Adrian, who had turned into a bat.
In *Little Nicky*, art imitated life. Osbourne's scene references the infamous legend of him eating a bat on stage. This myth was only half true because Osbourne had simply bitten the animal's head off, just as he did in the film.
Osbourne died just weeks after his final farewell show, a benefit concert, in Birmingham, England. The Villa Park venue was short trip away from where he and his Black Sabbath bandmates grew up.
The singer had endured various health issues over the past few years after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019.

"I don't know what to say, man, I've been laid up for like six years," Osbourne said during the show. "You have no idea how I feel — thank you from the bottom of my heart. You're all special. Let's go crazy, come on."
Osbourne performed solo hits and reunited with his Black Sabbath band members to perform four songs: "War Pigs," "NIB," "Iron Man," and "Paranoid." It was their first performance as a group in 20 years.
The concert raised £140 million for charities including Birmingham Children's Hospital, Cure Parkinson's, and Acorns Children's Hospice.
The surviving members of Black Sabbath each paid tribute to their frontman following his death.
"It's just such heartbreaking news that I can't really find the words, there won't ever be another like him," lead guitarist Tony Iommi said. "Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother."
Osbourne is survived by his wife, Sharon, and his children Kelly, Jack, Elliot, Jessica, Louis, and Aimee.**
