Rebecca Romijn received a lot of love from the geek community gathered at Comic-Con on Saturday, not just for her role on *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*, but also *Avengers: Doomsday*.
The actress reprises her past *X-Men* role as the shapeshifting mutant Mystique in the Marvel Cinematic Universe event film, which set up shop in the U.K. She also recently wrapped filming season 4 of *Strange New Worlds* in Toronto and will return to film season 5.
During the Hall H Star Trek Universe panel over the weekend, moderator and *Trek* alum Robert Picardo asked Romijn about filming both projects simultaneously.

How Marvel finally got X-Men into the MCU with 'Avengers: Doomsday'
'Avengers: Doomsday' cast is official, including 'X-Men' reunion of Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart
"It's surreal and overwhelming," she said from the stage, "and I'm very grateful to this production for working it out with the other production that I was able to participate in both. It's been very exciting — and a lot of time on the airplane."
**'s Samantha Highfill, who's hosting EW's Comic-Con livestream, asked if Romijn gets a zip-up Mystique costume this time around, as opposed to the prosthetics and makeup effects painted on her the first go around.
"I cannot confirm or deny one single thing," Romijn replies. She does, however, comment, "It's been a very exciting summer."

Romijn reunites with some of her past X-Men movie costars in *Avengers: Doomsday*, including Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto), Alan Cumming (Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler), James Marsden (Scott Summers/Cyclops), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast/Hank McCoy). The film involves actor Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU but playing supervillain Doctor Victor Von Doom.
After *Deadpool & Wolverine*, this will be the most overt inclusion of the X-Men characters into the MCU to date. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also made known plans to eventually recast the roles of the X-Men in the MCU after the multiverse-crossing events of the next *Avengers* movies.
*Avengers: Doomsday* is scheduled for theaters on Dec. 18, 2026.**
