- Jean Smart was captured on camera signing autographs for fans outside her new Broadway show, *Call Me Izzy*.

- A *Hacks* fan shocked the star by asking her to sign their forearm as Deborah Vance for a tattoo.

- "Are you serious?" Smart asked before telling the fan she was "nervous" to mess the signature up.

*Hacks* icon Deborah Vance can handle anything — except the thought of signing a fan's arm for a permanent tattoo!

In a comical video recently posted online, Jean Smart, the Emmy-winning actress behind the *Hacks* character, is shown signing autographs outside the stage door for her new Broadway show, *Call Me Izzy*.

The 73-year-old actress is caught off guard, however, when a fan asks her to use a thick marker to sign their forearm in the style of Deborah Vance so that they can immediately go get a tattoo of the signature.

Smart, sitting down due to an issue with her ankle, pauses to look at the fan before asking, "You're going to *what*?"**

Her surprise doesn't wane as she asks, "Are you serious?" before the fan confirms that they plan to travel from the stage door directly to a tattoo parlor to get inked that night.

"How are they going to do that?" Smart asks.

The fan reassures her, "Trust me, they do it all the time."

Smart then places her hand over her mouth and agrees to the request — but first she tells the fan that she has to stand up to stabilize herself to make the signature as good as it can be.

"Do you want me to sign it the way she signs?" Smart asks.

"You *are* her — you've got this!" the fan replies.

Smart then asks, "What if I mess it up?" before another fan responds, "Deborah Vance doesn't mess up."

The actress then gets a mischievous look in her eye, channeling Vance's voice as she replies, "That's true."

Smart as Vance stands up and signs the fan's arm, then blows on it for good measure.**
